Item Overview
Description:
1. The Holy Sefer Sefer Noam Elimelech. [Russia-Poland, c. 1820].
Printed without a place or date of printing, likely due to censorship, which particularly targeted Hasidic seforim. Additionally, the title page does not mention the author's name and even implies that the author is Rebbi Yechiel Michel of Zlotchov. The title page states that it includes the ethical wills of "the pious rabbi, the author, Rebbi Yechiel Michel [of Zlotchov]"—with emphasis on the word "the author." Behind the title page, Hanhagot HaAdam (Guidelines for Human Conduct) by the renowned godly preacher, Rebbi Yechiel Michel, is printed. However, the actual author of Noam Elimelech is Rebbi Elimelech of Lizhensk.
It appears that this edition of Noam Elimelech is the first to include Hanhagot HaAdam, and in later editions, the author's name was corrected.
At the end of the volume, Taamei Mitzvot (The Secrets of the Commandments) is included, discussing the mystical meanings of tefillin, tzitzit, Shema, mezuzah, Shabbat and its laws, and shatnez, written by the great Kabbalist Rabbi Yosef Gikatilla.

Some bibliographers believe that the sefer was printed in Zolkiew around 1850.
