And indeed, we have just come from the 10th of Shevat, the day of the passing and hilula of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe ztzukl, nbg”m zy”a, at whose resting place he will be remembered. And in the words of the one whose hilula it is: The mighty ones of Israel, the defenders of the land—even when they return their souls to the bosom of their Father in Heaven, to Whom they entrust their spirits—not only do they not part from their flock, but moreover they humble themselves before the footstool of the heavenly throne, to stand before the glory of the Almighty, exalted and uplifted, to protect the people of Yeshurun, to seek the mercy and kindness of the Father for His child, His people and His inheritance.” Before his signature the Rebbe added in his own handwriting: “Lev’shuT” (abbreviation for “for good tidings”). And after his signature is a long line of brief references to sources.
