Bidspirit auction | An Exceptional Small Antique Sefer

An Exceptional Small Antique Sefer Torah, Circa 1900 – Certified Kosher for Use. - An extraordinary and rare small antique Sefer Torah, masterfully scribed on traditional parchment (klaf) in elegant Ksav Beit Yosef or Ashkenazi script, circa 1900. Standing at approximately 25 cm in height, this remarkable scroll contains 42 lines per column, all meticulously and beautifully penned with clear and concise letters. The scroll remains in exceptional condition, the sheets seamlessly joined without tears, and the klaf remarkably preserved. This Torah is adorned in a magnificent presentation: wrapped with a regal purple vimpel and clothed in a red velvet mantle richly embroidered with a golden Decalogue displaying the Ten Commandments. The Decalogue is flanked by two embroidered rampant gold lions, crowned above with a splendidly embroidered Keter Torah. Beneath the central embroidery rests a colorful vase streaming with foliate leaves and a single radiant flower, above a dedication inscription. The Torah has been thoroughly examined by an expert Sofer, who has provided a written letter of authentication attesting to its complete kashrut and confirming that it has been carefully checked and revived for daily use. The Sefer Torah is accompanied by an aged tallit, in which it is reverently wrapped, and housed within an antique suitcase — the very case in which it was brought over from Europe.
