At the holy press of Rabbi Chanina Lipa and Rabbi Yehoshua Heshel Shapira, grandsons of the rabbi of Slavita. First Edition. The sefer was edited and published by his grandson the Holy Rebbi Meshulam Zussia of Zhinkov. In his intruduction he explains why he named his grandfather's sefer Ohev Yisrael (Lover of Israel): 'For it was frequently on the rabbi's lips, that this trait is one he could boast of even before the Beit Din shel Mala, that Ahavat Israel was firmly planted in his heart, ' and he also instructed that only this title should be written on his tombstone. One of the foundational works of Chasidic teachings. In his approbation (to the Lviv edition), Rabbi Yosef Shaul Nathansohn writes: ”...he loved every Jewish person with his heart and soul, and would show great affection particularly to Torah scholars.
