Set Zohar Hakadosh - Zhitomir, 1863. Approbation & blessing of the Holy Rebbi Aharon of Chernobyl. - Zohar, corrected according to the text of the Constantinople print. A complete set in three volumes. Printed by the Shapira rabbis, grandsons of the Rabbi of Slavuta. Zhitomir, 1863. Four title pages, in three of which the words “Sefer HaZohar” and “B’Zhitomir” are printed in red letters. Following the title page appears the approbation of the holy Rebbi Aharon of Chernobyl, of blessed memory, who relates that he received a letter from his mechutan, the righteous Rabbi Yehoshua Heshel, “bringing me tidings in his letter, that he had obtained permission from the censure to bring to the press their edition of Sefer HaZohar and Tikkunim, together with Zohar Chadash, once again… and the work was sufficient to beautify and glorify this sacred labor with abundance and quality.” He continues to praise the beauty of the printing, writing:  “For it is well known in all circles the precious splendor of the press of my esteemed mechutanim, the holy descendants, who merited radiant letters that enlighten the eyes, and whose intent is to remove the dross of printing errors wherever their hand can reach, as they merited from their holy forefathers and carry out the deeds of their ancestors in their own hands.” He requests that no one infringe upon the rights of the printers. In conclusion, he blesses the buyers:  “Therefore may Hashem bless them with length of days and good years, and may Hashem grant them abundance—children, life, and ample sustenance, speedily, amen, may it be His will…” Bereishit: [4], 251,16 Leaves.
