First edition. Dyhernfurth, 1689. Printed at the press of the Gaon Rabbi Shabtai Meshorer Bass of Prague, the renowned author of Siftei Chachamim on Rashi. Divrei David is a rare sefer. Already many decades ago, it was described as “extremely rare and precious” (see the title page of the 1882 Warsaw edition). Only three years after this edition was printed (1689), the same press published for the first time the Taz’s commentary on Orach Chaim, printed together with that of the Magen Avraham—the very first edition of Maginei Eretz. The Taz (Rabbi David HaLevi Segal, 1586–1667): He was born in Ludmir, Ukraine (then part of Poland). He was a disciple and later son-in-law of the Bach (Rabbi Yoel Sirkis). During the Chmielnicki massacres (1648–1649), he fled his city and eventually arrived in Lviv (Lvov), where he was appointed as Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva. [1], 53, 55-79, 2 Leaves. 28 cm.
