Letters by Rabbi Moshe Zchut (the Rama”z). First Edition. Livorno, 1780. - Iggeros HaRamaz, letters by the kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Zakut that discusses topics of kabbalah, teachings on the writings of the Ari, laws and customs on different topics. Printed at the end is ‘Elef Alfin’ – a bakasha of one thousand words that all begin with the letter alef with a commentary. [4], 48 Leaves. 20.2 cm. The Gaon and Kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Zakut (1620–1698) studied the hidden wisdom under his teacher Rabbi Binyamin ha-Levi, a disciple of Rabbi Chaim Vital, and became one of the foremost kabbalists and disseminators of Kabbalah in Italy. He served as rabbi and rosh yeshiva in Venice and Mantua. The Chida, in his work Shem HaGedolim, writes of him: “His wisdom and holiness are known throughout the entire land.” He authored and edited many works in both the revealed and the hidden Torah, among them Kol ha-Ramaz, Shuda de-Dayanei, and others. Many of the letters in this sefer were sent to his renowned disciples, Rabbi Binyamin ha-Kohen (the RaBakh) and Rabbi Avraham Rovigo, and contain various subjects in the wisdom of the hidden teachings of Kabbalah.
