Netiv Chayim by the author of Korban Netanel. First Edition. Fürth, 1779. - Sefer Netiv Chayim — novellae and glosses on Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chayim, and its commentaries, by the gaon Rabbi Netanel Weil, Av Beit Din of Karlsruhe, author of Korban Netanel on the Rosh. The first edition of a foundational and exceptionally important halakhic work, which in later generations was printed among the standard commentaries on the Shulchan Aruch and is frequently cited in subsequent halakhic literature, including many places in the Mishnah Berurah by Maran the Chafetz Chaim. The gaon Rabbi Netanel Weil (1687–1769) was a disciple of Rabbi Avraham Broda and also married his niece. He served as head of a yeshiva and a teacher of Torah in Prague, and later as rabbi of the Schwarzwald region and of Karlsruhe. He is renowned for his work Korban Netanel on the rulings of the Rosh and was also a great kabbalist. It is related that a miraculous, supernatural event occurred at his funeral, when the distance to the cemetery was miraculously shortened — a phenomenon that became a topic of discussion even among non-Jews and was reported in the newspapers of the time.
