The author is Chacham Shason Becher Moshe (1825–1903), known as Persiado (“precious” in Ladino), a rabbi and kabbalist of Jerusalem of Bosnian origin, who served as leader of the community and of the kabbalistic Beit El Yeshiva in Jerusalem.
