Dedication of the Holy Rebbe Yosef Greenwald - The Vayechi Yosef of Pupa. - Sefer Vayaged Yaakov, printed in 1947 after the Holocaust, by the Kehillat Yaakov Yeshiva of Pápa in Antwerp, under the leadership of the holy Rebbe, the author of Vayechi Yosef of Pápa, of blessed and saintly memory. On the title page there is a dedication signed by the son of the author and publisher, the holy Rebbe the Vayechi Yosef of Pápa, to the groom R. Moshe Eliezer Schnitzler. The Rebbe signs ''Hakatan Yosef Greenwald, son of the author of blessed memory, formerly Av Beit Din of the holy congregation of Pápa.” The Holy Rebbi Yosef Greenwald of Pupa (1903-1984), was a prominent rabbi and leader. After his marriage, he was appointed as a dayan in Satmar, where his uncle and mentor, Rabbi Eliezer Dovid Greenwald, served as rabbi. After his mentor’s passing, Rabbi Yosef took over as head of the ”Keren L’David” yeshiva. After his father’s death, he became the rabbi of Pupa until the outbreak of the Holocaust, in which most of his extensive family perished, may God avenge their blood. After the war, he spent time in Antwerp, England, and later moved to the United States, where he rebuilt the Pupa community.
