Sha'ar HaYichudim. Lviv 1855- With a protective amulet against plague from the Holy Arizal – Testimony of the holy Rebbi Meir of Premishlan – a Segula Sefer. Signature of the Chasid R. Shmuel Eliezer Feldman of Sighet. - Sefer Sha'ar HaYichudim, together with Tzaddik Yesod Olam, a commentary on the Book of Ruth, and Commentary on the Sabbath Songs, by Rabbi Chaim Vital, based on the teachings of his master, the Arizal. Lemberg, 1855 . Printed by M. F. Poremba. First complete edition. On the title page, it is written:“...and the immense value of these Yichudim (unifications) and the sacred and awesome Divine names – they protect and save from all harm. Also included are new amulets for every calamity – for fire, and for plague approaching the world.” A large illustrated amulet appears on leaf 32 verso, titled: “This amulet is for plague, from the holy Arizal, of blessed memory.” Additional diagrams and many more amulets appear throughout the sefer. On the flyleaf there is an early ownership inscription from the time the sefer was printed: “This sefer belongs to the Rabbi of Kretshnif.” Beneath it appears the signature of the well-known Chasid, Rabbi Shmuel Eliezer Feldman of Sighet:  “I purchased [this] with my own means, for the honor of my Rock and Creator, Hakatan Feldman Shmuel Eliezer, Sighet.” On the title page is the signature: “Avraham Feldman.” The publisher, Rabbi Yehuda Leibush Rappaport, states in his introduction that the Holy Rebbe Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura commanded him to publish the sefer and even purchased from him the amulets mentioned in it – for himself and for his father, the tzaddik Rebbi Yisrael of Ruzhin. The publisher testifies that the amulets were also bought by other righteous brothers from the House of Ruzhin, and that many other tzaddikim acquired them as well. The holy Rebbi Meir of Premishlan testified: “It is true and just that these [amulets and teachings] are highly effective against all illness and misfortune, God forbid.” Rabbi Yosef Segal Landa, Av Beit Din of Iași, writes in his introduction that the sefer is: “A leaf of healing, protection from fire, salvation from plague, God forbid, and from many other troubles.” With haskamot from: The Gaon Rabbi Avraham Anzyl Tsazmir, Av Beit Din of Stryi, The holy Rabbi Yeshaya Shor, Av Beit Din of Khotyn, The holy Rebbi Nechemia of Bichov, son of the holy Jew of Peshischa, The Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Ze’ev Ettinger of Lviv The publisher also notes he received endorsements from many of the great sages of the generation, among them the holy Gaon Rabbi Elazar Nisan Teitelbaum, Av Beit Din of Drohobycz, father of the holy Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Teitelbaum (author of Yitav Lev) of Sighet. The distinguished Chasid Rabbi Shmuel Eliezer Feldman was born in the town of Mihăleni to his father, the Chasidic elder Rabbi Moshe Yisrael Feldman, who at first attached himself to the holy Rebbi Uri of Strelisk and to the holy Rebbi of Stretin; later Rabbi Moshe Yisrael traveled to Kosov to attach himself to the holy author of Torat Chaim. After his marriage, Rabbi Shmuel Eliezer lived in Bitshkov, and later moved to Sighet. From a young age he was known and famous as one of the outstanding figures among the Vizhnitz Chassidim. Although in the revealed Torah his renowned brother, the famous gaon Rabbi Ephraim Fishl, author of Yadot Ephraim, surpassed him, in the hidden (esoteric) Torah it was said that Rabbi Shmuel Eliezer’s power was greater. The well-known Chasid Rabbi Mordechai Chuna Fuchs of Grosswardein would speak of him with immense esteem. He passed away young, at the age of forty-two, in 1884. According to his will, he was immersed in the frozen river, and members of the burial society testified that by natural means it would have been impossible to immerse him in the frozen river—yet he immersed himself!
