Lengthy Torah letter from the Holy Gaon Rabbi Yechiel Michel HaKohen Fried ABD Balmazujvaros author of Torat Yafeh, written during his father’s lifetime. 1906. - An extensive letter comprising four pages filled with Torah novellae, entirely in his holy handwriting and signature. Addressed to his cousin, the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Meir HaKohen Fried, Av Beit Din of Kapish and its region. Muzhiyevo, 1906. The Holy Gaon Rabbi Yechiel Michel HaKohen Fried (1880–1940), Av Beit Din of Balmazujvaros and author of Torat Yafeh, was the son of the holy Gaon Rabbi Netanel HaKohen Fried, author of Pnei Mevin. He received his Torah education from his illustrious father, as well as from leading sages including the authors of Yad Ramah and Arugat HaBosem. He married the daughter of the rabbinic figure Rabbi Aharon Yeshaya Shtayberger of Muzhiyevo where he resided for about ten years. Following his father’s passing in 1916, he succeeded him as rabbi of the city and head of the yeshiva, a position he held for 27 years. The Holy Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Meir HaKohen Fried , who succeeded his father, the holy Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel HaKohen Fried, as Av Beit Din of Kapish, was likewise renowned as a miracle worker and a man of great spiritual stature.
