Kabbalah: Ohr HaChamah. Printed in a Wondrous way by the Rebbe of Shinova. Copy of the Holy Rabbi Shaul Brach. - Sefer Ohr HaChamah is an extremely important elucidation of the Zohar by Kabbalist Rabbi Avraham Azoulay (I), author of Chessed L'Avraham, and the Chid”a's great-great-grandfather. With commentaries by leading Kabbalists who added to the elucidation.  Przemyśl, 1896-1897.  During the Shinova Rebbe's famous visit to the Land of Israel, he miraculously became aware of the sanctified manuscript that had previously been in the Chid”a's possession (he mentions it in Shem HaGedolim) after which all trace of it was lost. The Shinova Rebbe, who saw the manuscript in the possession of a local merchant, spent a fortune to redeem it. He also gave money to the printers to print this sefer he considered so important. On the title page of Part II, appears an early handwritten inscription: “ Admor Ba’al Shaul Sha’al”  - referring to the work Shaul Sha’al by the gaon Rabbi Shaul Brach, first printed in 1911. Also present are the stamps of his grandson, Joseph Zvi Friedman of Kosice. Additional signatures and goldstamping appear on the binding: Yaakov Zvi Gottman (of Stropkov). The Holy Gaon Rabbi Shaul Brach of Nitra (1865-1940), was born in Neitra, appearing on his stamp ‘Shaul Brach of Nitra’. Studied Torah with Maranan the Maharam Schik and the Chassan Sofer and travelled to the Tzaddikim of his generation of Sanz, Siget and Belz. Was renowned as Av Beis Din of Košice (Kaschau) and most of the leading rabbis of Hungary studied at the renowned Yeshiva he established there. Was also known as ‘Shaul Bachir Hashem’. Rabbi Yosef Zvi Friedman (1930-2006) Rabbi Shaul Brach’s grandson. Survived the Holocaust and its horrors. He managed to save several copies of his grandfather’s Seforim and after World War II, immigrated to New York, where he published his grandfather’s Seforim and some of his letters.
