Yehoshua Mondshine, Sefer HaTanya 20. 2 . Iggeret HaKodesh By the Alter Rebbe Shneur Zalman of Liadi. Lemberg, 1858. Printed by S. Back. 33 leaves. 17 cm. On the front endpaper appears an early ownership inscription of the Stryatin Klaus. Yehoshua Mondshine, Sefer HaTanya – Parts and Chapters Printed Separately, no. 15, p. 158. In 1857 a Lemberg edition of Tanya was printed with chapters 11–12 of the section Sha’ar HaYichud VeHaEmunah omitted. This omission was corrected the following year, in the 1858 Lemberg edition, when a new printing of Tanya included those chapters. However, that edition did not include the section Iggeret HaKodesh. Instead, in that same year (1858), Iggeret HaKodesh was printed as a separate booklet with its own title page, and at its beginning were printed chapters 11–12 of Sha’ar HaYichud VeHaEmunah—the chapters that had been omitted from the 1857 edition. However, in the present copy, chapters 11–12 of the section Sha’ar HaYichud VeHaEmunah were indeed printed, with four more pages than the other known copies. This is the only known copy of the 1857 Lemberg edition containing these chapters! With Sefer Iggeret HaKodesh, which was printed as a separate booklet in Lemberg in 1858, and is extremely rare!
