Personal Copy Belonging to the Saintly Brothers, the Pachad Yitzchak of Boyan and the Ohr Yisrael of Sadigura. Chefetz Hashem by the holy author of Or HaChaim. Zolkiew 1805 - Approbation of the Maggid of Kozhnitz. - Sefer Chafetz Hashem, a work on several tractates of the Shas: Berachot, Shabbat, Horayot and Chulin, by Rabbi Chaim Ben Atar, who was renowned for his monumental work and was known as the Or Hachaim Hakadosh. Second edition ”as printed in Amsterdam” – Zholkva, 1805. On the title page appear the royal majestric stamps of the holy brothers: the Rebbe, the holy gaon Israel Friedman of Sadigura, author of Or Yisrael, and the Rebbe, the holy gaon Yitzchak Friedman of Boyan, author of Pachad Yitzchak—sons of the Rebbe, the holy gaon Avraham Yitzchak Friedman of Sadigura. Their seals bears a depiction of a crouching lion, symbolizing the Kingdom of David HaMelech, predecessor of the Ruzhin dynasty. Approbations by leading contemporary rabbis: the holy Gaon Rebbi Yisrael ben Shabta Hopstein, the Maggid of Kozhnitz author of Avodat Yisrael, the great Gaon Rabbi Yaakov ben Rabbi Mordechai Ze’ev Av Beit Din of Lviv and the famed Gaon Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margolis of Brod.  Touching introduction in poetic language by the author, explaining the title of the book: ”כי כל כוונתי לעשות בו חפצו יתברך… ועוד שיהי’ ה’ חפץ בו לעורר אהבתו אליו ועל כללות אומתנו הקדושה ועל השכינה…” and recalling some of the hardships he had experienced: ”זה לי שבע שנים אשר שללו ממני כל אשר חנני ה’ כוחי והוני מעת פטירת אדוני חמי איש חיל רב פעלים… הנגיד ר’ משה בן עטר נ”ע…” This Rare Chassidic edition with the Approbation of the Kozhnitzer  Maggid has appeared only twice at public auction. The Holy Rebbi Yitzchak of Boyan (1849–1917) was the son of the Holy Rebbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura, grandson of the Holy Rebbi Yisrael of Ruzhin. He was well-known for his tremendous reverence of G-d and deep devotion which instilled fear in all those around him, hence the title ”Pachad Yitzchak.” Following his father's passing, he first lived with his brothers in Sadigura, eventually moving to the city of Boyan in 1886 where he founded the Boyan dynasty. He fled to Vienna at the onset of World War I and remained there until his passing in 1917. His brother the Holy Rebbi Israel Friedman of Sadigura (1852–1907) was the first grandson of the Rebbe of Ruzhin and was named after him. In time, he also filled his place, serving as Rebbe in the renowned city of Sadigura. He continued in the path of his holy forefathers within their sacred court.
