Autograph manuscript of the Holy Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald, Av Beit Din of Satmar, on Tehillim. - Very important manuscript, entirely in the holy handwriting of Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald, from his work on Sefer Tehillim. Several students recorded their names for a good remembrance: Yitzchak Forkosh, Aharon Spitzer, Hillel Schwartz of the community of Szőlős, Menachem Mendel Adler Katz of Dibeve, and others. 24 Written Sides. The Holy Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald was born in 1846 in Brezova to his father Rabbi Yehoshua Falik. In his youth, he began his education under Rabbi David Fischer, who later became Av Beit Din of Piešťany. At the age of thirteen, he went into exile to a place of Torah to draw from the great wellsprings of Rabbi David Deutsch, Av Beit Din of Yarmut, author of Ohel David. In 1866, he rose to become one of the foremost students of  Maran the Ketav Sofer in Pressburg. Upon reaching marriageable age, he was taken as a son-in-law by Rabbi Yosef Yuzpa Sofer, son of the Chatam Sofer. In 1882 he accepted the rabbinate of Sabatitch, where his prominence began to grow. Many benefited from his counsel and wisdom, seeking his blessings. In 1889 he moved to Bonyhád, and in 1896 he was appointed Av Beit Din of Shuran, where he maintained a large yeshiva for outstanding students. In the month of Elul 1899, a new chapter in his life began when he accepted the rabbinate of the great city of Satmar. There he instituted major communal enactments in all areas of life and led the city with wisdom until his passing on the 19th of Adar, 1920. He left behind a legacy of Torah works, including Shevet MiYehuda and Zichron Yehuda.
