'The Ages of Man' Allegory - Antique Oval Bronze Relief - From a set of four reliefs originally crafted in marble in the early 19th century by Danish artist Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770–1844), who also lived and worked in Italy. Thorvaldsen was inspired by the poem ”The Ages of Man” by Anne Bradstreet, an American poet of British origin (1612–1672).
