Antiochus IV, so called Antiochus the evil, is known for his cruelty and imposing decrees against the Jewish tradition and prohibition of keeping the Lord commandments by Jews. Which led to the outbreak of the Hasmonean Revolt, and eventually led to the miracle of Hanukkah and the independence of the Jewish people.
