Condition: overcleaned / artificial embossing. ”Thea Neotera” (“The Younger Goddess”) was a divine title used for Cleopatra VII, emphasizing her role as a living goddess linked to Isis. Coins bearing this epithet, minted between 51–30 BC, symbolized her political authority and divine legitimacy during the final years of the Ptolemaic dynasty. Cleopatra VII formed powerful political and romantic alliances with Julius Caesar and later Mark Antony, deeply influencing Roman affairs. Her defeat alongside Antony by Octavian (later Augustus) in 30 BC marked the end of the Ptolemaic rule and Egypt's annexation into the Roman Empire. Mark Antony ”bestowed” a number of territories in the east to Cleopatra, which were added to her royal dominions, including portions of Phoenicia in 37/6 BC.
