Simon Galstyan (Armenian, 1914 - 2000) - Simon Galstyan (Armenian, 1914 - 2000), ”Sevan” 1971, oil on canvas, signed and dated l. r. and on reverse, 40 x 60 cm. Notes Simon Galstyan was born in Yerevan and received his early artistic education at the P. Terlemezyan Art College. In 1936, he continued his studies at the prestigious Ilya Repin Institute in Leningrad. Awarded the title of Honored Artist of Armenia in 1967, Galstyan distinguished himself through a career marked by both national recognition and international exposure. His works have appeared at Christie's in London and are represented in major institutional collections, including the National Gallery of Armenia, the Tretyakov Gallery, and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. Today, his paintings are also held in numerous private collections across Armenia and abroad.
