Collector's Pottery Plate (Speaking) - Collector's Pottery Plate (Speaking) ”The Siege of Paris No. 12”. France, Crail and Montreux, late 19th century. 12 scenes of life during the siege of Paris (1870-1871) an episode of the Franco-Prussian War. Each chapter had 12 plates and each plate was numbered. On the back of each plate, a small note humorously explains the scene, so they were called ”speaking”. No breaks or restoration. There is a small crack on the back of the plate. Condition in the picture. Diameter: 20.5 cm.
