Antique Vistorian Hairwork Rotating Pendant - A rotating pendant or a pendant that can be worn as a necklace. Unknown gold color metal.Height 45 mm. The inner part that should rotate does not really rotate, requires professional repair. Design: Side 1: Includes a carved amulet, probably made of a light blue or turquoise material (perhaps glass, a chalcedony-like stone, or even some type of cast resin to imitate a gemstone). The carving depicts a woman's head in a classical style. Side 2: Contains a piece of mourning or memorial art made from hair. This side shows a delicate arrangement of human hair, carefully cut and arranged in the form of flowers and a feather, on a light background (probably mother of pearl or painted porcelain). This type of work was most popular in the 18th and 19th centuries.
