Dish ”Venus Rosewater”. - Great Britain, 19th century. - Diameter: 45 cm. - Description: Since 1864, similar dishes have been awarded to the winners of the Wimbledon Tennis Cup. ”Temperance” sits in the center, holding a lamp and a jug. It is surrounded by images of gods and elements, and on the outer edge Minerva sits over the seven Liberal arts: Geometry, Arithmetic, Music, Rhetoric, Dialectic, Astronomy and Grammar. The rest of the dish space is filled with decorative ornaments with floral motifs. On the reverse side is a medal with a man's profile and a motto. Defects: Condition report by request.
