Rabbi Efraim Binyomin Grunfeld of Rimaszecs Hungary HY”D. 1931 - Controversy of Beregsasz Community. Letter from 1931 regarding the Chilul Hashem in Beregsasz, where they humiliated a Talmid Chochom in public, and laid off the heads and leaders of the community and replaced them with immoral people who elected the Rabbi through the court system. He emphasizes the fact that the Chassam Sofer staunchly opposed electing Rabbis through court.  Rabbi Efraim Binyamin  (1864-1944) was born in Szendrő, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, Hungary to his father Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Leib.. Studied under the Shevet Sofer and Reb Moshe Sofer AB”D Tisa-Firad. He was the son-in-law of Rabbi Shimon Lefeler and in his second marriage, of Rabbi Chaim Yitzchok Schwartz. He succeeded his father as Rabbi of Rimaszecs in 1910.
