Rabbi Meir Feuerwerger. Heartrending Letter about the Sad Condition of European Jewry and the Agunos of the Holocaust. Brussels 1946. Rabbi Meir Feuerwerger was a student of the yeshivot of Chust, Selish, Unsdorf and Satmar. In 1928, he served as rabbi of the Orthodox community in Frankfurt A.M. In 1939, he fled to Belgium and settled in Brussels. During the war he was active in the rescue efforts. He survived the Holocaust but lost his entire family. After the Holocaust he served as member of the Brussels Beit Din which often dealt with the aguna problem. He moved to London in 1955, where he lead the Montefiore school.
