19th Century American Onyx & Alabastar Case Mantle Clock - This is an antique onyx mantel clock, William Senter a watchmaker and two-time Mayor of Portland, Maine. Likely made between 1836 and 1888, this clock features a temple-like design depicting full figure warriors at the top and pillars on either side of the clock face. The clock face is a porcelain dial with a visible escapement, which allows you to see the inner workings of the clock as it runs. Time and strike pendulum movement. Very few examples of this clock maker's work remain, making this a unique and historical piece. 10.5 x 13.25 inches. Weight: 422.4oz.  Condition: Good condition. Minor wear commensurate with age.
