The decoration includes vegetal and geometric motifs in the centre and along the cavetto, underglaze painted with blue-greenish pigment. The item belongs to the Islamic ceramic repertoire of the Iranian or Transoxian area (modern Uzbekistan/Northern Afghanistan) and is placed in the context of early medieval production, particularly in the Seljuk period.
