Nishapur, 10th-11th century Earthenware body covered with white slip, the upper rim painted with a chevron band containing a wavy motif and dotted in manganese brown. The inner central roundel painted with a stylised bird figure. This production widespread in the Khorassan region during the Samanid reign (819-999). Marginal restorations visible along the edge.
