Devotional Bronze Depicting Ganesha - Devotional Bronze Depicting Ganesha Southern India, Tamil Nadu or Karnataka, 18th century Lost-wax cast bronze with chisel-finished details, depicting the elephant-headed god seated in lalitasana, with four arms holding ritual attributes. Ganesha is shown resting on his vehicle, the mouse (mushika), and is framed by an ornate torana (archway) adorned with floral motifs, heraldic animals, and a kirtimukha (apotropaic monstrous face) at the top, serving as protection for the deity.
