The regal context is suggested by the luxurious gowns and jewellery worn by the girl, as well as the regal architecture in the background, decorated with floral motifs, vases and drapery. The most striking element of the painting is the monsoon sky: a swirl of layered, dark clouds edged in golden light that looms over the deep green horizon.
