Painting from a Ragamala - Painting from a Ragamala Northern India, Rajasthan, Jaipur, 18th century or later Gouache and gold on paper, probably depicting Ramakali Ragini, one of the melodic modes of Indian classical music. Ragini are also often represented in pictorial form in the tradition of Ragamala paintings, where each is personified as a female figure with specific emotions, settings and symbolism.
