Painting depicting the encounter between Krishna and a Gopi - Painting depicting the encounter between Krishna and a Gopi Northern India, Mewar, mid-17th century Gouache on cardboard, possibly part of a Ragamala, but not identified in the devanagari text, arranged on three lines in the upper portion of the painting. The composition is divided into two: an outdoor scene and an indoor scene in the left portion. On the right side of the painting Krishna and a Gopi are depicted under a tree, while the left portion features a palatial setting. Provenance: private collection Brescia, Italy. 23.7 X 17 cm
