Painting depicting Krishna Shrinathji - Painting depicting Krishna Shrinathji Northern India, Rajasthan, Nathdwara, 19th century Natural pigment and gold on paper depicting a priest (Brahmin) paying homage to the infant effigy of Krishna in his Shrinathji form, characterized by the opulence of the robes and jewellery worn by the deity. The Shrinathji iconography is inherent in the Pushtimarg tradition (the 'way of grace'), founded in the 15th century by the saint Vallabhacharya, and involves the depiction of BalaKrishna in the act of lifting Mount Govardhan with one arm.
