The holy author, Rabbi Raphael Segal Tzimmetbaum, was a close confidant and member of the household of Rabbeinu the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. He grew up near his table, served him in holiness for several years, and merited great closeness. In later years, he became known as one of the great figures of the holy Babov court in its early generations. Rabbi Raphael authored Sefer Darkei Chaim on Rabbeinu of Sanz – his biography and conduct in holiness – printed in Krakow, 1923. On the title page, the author stamped his name on a piece of paper affixed over part of the original printed text of the title page: רבי רפאל סג”ל צימעטבוים/ [2], 78 leaves. Light age stains. Leaves are slightly dry and darkened. Small tears to the title page, not affecting text. Original binding. Good condition.
