Sefer Chesed LeAvraham, by the Divine Kabbalist Rabbi Avraham Azulai, with the commentary on the teaching of Rabbi Shimshon of Ostropoli, is printed here for the first time in this edition. On the title page appears the signature of the Gaon, Tzaddik, and Kabbalist Rabbi Rafael Zilberman, Rabbi of Safed and head of the Ashkenazic community there: 'הק' רפאל בהרמ”ד ד”ץ' – the s. Rafael, son of Harav Mordechai Dayan Tzedek – the standard form in which Rabbi Zilberman used to sign his name and his father’s name, the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai. Another important signature appears on the title page: 'הק' מנחם' - without continuation. The Gaon Tzaddik Rabbi Rafael Zilberman served as Rabbi of Safed from 1872 to 1918. His father served as Rabbi of Uman, and later ascended to Safed, where he too was crowned with the rabbinate. 60 leaves. [Erratic foliation on some leaves.] Stains, wear. New attractive binding.
