Sha’ar HaKavanot, the Sixth Gate from the Eight Gates, composed by the renowned divine Kabbalist Rabbienu Rabbi Chaim Vital, as received from his teacher the Ari zy”a, with the Sefer Sha’ah Yafah by Rabbi Shlomo son of Yehuda HaKohen. In the corners of the title page: illustrations from the Holy City of Safed, from the Cave of Machpelah, from the Tomb of Rachel Imaeinu, and from the Tombs of Malchei Beit David. With an additional title page for the Sefer Sha’ah Yafah. With stamps: “This Sefer belonged to the grandchildren of the Admor of Tisa Salka zy”a, ” indicating that the exampler before us belonged to the Gaon Rabbi Yoel Tzvi Roth, Av Beit Din of Tisa Salka. The Holy Gaon Rabbi Yoel Tzvi Roth, Av Beit Din of Tisa Salka and its environs, was a grandson named after the Holy Gaon Rabbi Yoel Tzvi, author of Shu”t Beit HaYotzer (one of the great sages of Hungary). Upon reaching marriageable age, he wed the daughter of the Holy Rabbi Chaim Shlomo, author of Shemu’ah Tovah of Koson, son of the Holy author of Bnei Sheloshim. Rabbi Yoel Tzvi was renowned for his vast mastery of all treasures of Torah, knowing by heart Bavli and Yerushalmi, Sifra, Sifrei, and other Midrashim, as well as the writings of the Ari zy”a. Half-leather binding, broken, damaged, and detached; stains; the endpapers were replaced with advertising sheets from the New Home for the Aged in Jerusalem – defects to the endpapers, front endpaper detached.
