The Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Efraim Fishel (Viktor) Zussman (Sofer) (1867–1942) – known as the “Choser Rav.” Son of the Gaon Rabbi Binyamin Ze’ev Wolf Zussman Sofer, author of Machlafot Shmalot, and grandson of the Gaon Rabbi Daniel Pruzsnitz, Av Beit Din of Pressburg. He studied in the “Shevet Sofer” yeshiva in Pressburg and was a leading figure in Machzikei HaDat in Hungary. Served as Av Beit Din of Tchos, and from 1914 as Dayan, rabbinic authority, and rabbi of the Kehillat Yere’im in Budapest, author of Ateret P”Z. He succeeded his father-in-law, Rabbi Yaakov Koppel Reich, Av Beit Din of Budapest. He viewed his primary mission as spreading Torah publicly and teaching daily in the Chevra Shas. He visited Eretz Yisrael in 1927 to review the administration of Kollel Shomrei HaChomot in Jerusalem. Good condition.
