[2] pages, consisting of [1] page containing a letter by Rabbi Mordechai Schinfeld, in his handwriting and with his signature, and [1] page containing a report with names of donors and the amounts donated. 23 cm. Attached to the letter is a temporary printed receipt in Yiddish (with entries filled in and signed by Rabbi David Kalman of Marad, and bearing his signature), together with the original envelope, with sender and recipient addresses and postal stamps. One of the three original stamps was removed from the envelope and is not present. In his letter, Rabbi Mordechai Schinfeld writes about the need to send receipts to donors and the difficulties in sending funds to Eretz Yisrael. • Valea lui Mihai, 1937. [4] pages, consisting of [1] page containing a letter by Rabbi Mordechai Schinfeld, in his handwriting, with his signature and his stamps, and [3] pages of a report with names of donors and the amounts donated. A temporary printed receipt in Yiddish is attached to the letter (with entries filled in and signed by Rabbi David Kalman of Marad (Grosswardein)). The original envelope is included, with sender and recipient addresses and with sender and postal stamps. The stamps were removed from the envelope and are not present. In his letter, Rabbi Mordechai Schinfeld writes about the need to send receipts to donors and the difficulties in sending funds to Eretz Yisrael. Rabbi Mordechai ben Avraham Schinfeld (Shahnpfeld) (1910–1944) – son of the Dayan Rabbi Avraham Schinfeld, Doyen of Mihalai Palva (Valea lui Mihai, Romania). In 1928, after the passing of his father, he filled his position as Dayan in Mihalai Palva. He was killed al Kiddush Hashem in the Holocaust. Fold marks, light stains, wear to the envelopes where the stamps were removed, one of the letters with tears and wear at the upper margins of the letter and an attached receipt, good condition.
