This volume includes: * The commentary of the Rosh and the Raavad on Tractate Tamid. * The commentary of the Rosh on Tractates Kinnim and Middos. * The commentary of the Raavad on the Thirteen Middos. * The commentary of Rabbeinu David (Bonfide) on Arba Misos. * Tosfei HaRosh on Yevamos, Kesubos, Horayos, and the final two chapters of Sotah, where no commentary of the Baalei HaTosafos was found. * The commentary of the Ritva on Perek Chelek. The great Gaon Rabbi Chaim Chizkiyahu Medini (1833–1905), among the foremost Acharonim, was born in Jerusalem and studied under the Chacham Bashi Rabbi Yitzchak Kovo and Rabbi Yosef Chaim Burla. In 1867 he became the Rabbi of Karasubazar in Crimea, where he began composing his monumental work. In 1899 he returned to Eretz Yisrael after thirty-three years in Crimea. He first settled in Jerusalem and later moved to Hebron, where he established a Yeshivah. Upon the passing of Rabbi Chaim Rahamim Yosef Franco, he was appointed Chief Rabbi of the city.
