Mordechai Mandel of Krakow.” The holy Mar’eh Yechezkel of Daash writes in the name of his Rebbe, the Chasam Sofer: “I heard from the holy mouth of the Chasam Sofer, that since the writings of the Rashba, no work arose like the Pnei Yehoshua.” The Chida writes about the author and his works in Shem HaGedolim: “His name spread throughout the entire world through the pure writings of Pnei Yehoshua… And I, the young one, merited to behold the radiance of the Shechinah for some days, and his appearance was like the appearance of an angel of God, and he gifted me a copy of Pnei Yehoshua.” Rebound with a defect.
