Rabbi Eliezer Ashkenazi , grandson of Rabbi Yosef Colon (the Maharik) — studied Torah from Rabbi Yosef Taitatzak (of the sages of Salonika, among the great Poskim of his generation). He served as Rabbi in Egypt, and after a lengthy period traveled among many communities, including Venice, Prague, Cremona, and others. Rabbi Eliyahu Betzalel Gross (15 Shevat 1923 – 14 Adar II 2016) — son of Rabbi Shmuel Gross, HY”D (Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva in Ritche, Berbrest, and Karoli), and grandson of the Admor Rabbi Yeshayale of Kerestir. In the Holocaust his parents and five siblings were murdered HY”D. After surviving the war, he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael and lived in Jerusalem.
