Curtain For a Torah Ark – Eastern Europe, 1926 - Parochet – Cover for a small Torah Ark. Eastern Europe, 1926. Green velvet curtain, fitting a small Aron Kodesh or one made for scrolls of the Prophets. Inscribed with: “Donated by Mordechai Vanievsky, in memory of his mother, Devorah daughter of R’ Yaakov Shimshon OBM. 1926” . Also embroidered is a large Star of David. The embroidery was made originally with errors. The surname was added on top of the original embroidery in smaller letters, and there are other errors. Faded velvet. Tears. Water and age damage. Worn tassels. Complete lining with some damage. Remnants of buckles and loops for hanging. Fair condition.
