Sefer Pri Chadash, on Yoreh De’ah, by Rabbi Chizkiyah De Silva – Fürth, 1769 – the exampler of Rabbi Dov Aryeh Ritter, Av Beit Din of Rotterdam – with glosses. Signature on the title page: ”דוב ארי' בן מו”ה זאב ריטטער” Rabbi Dr. Dov Aryeh Ritter (1855–1936) – rabbi of the Rotterdam community in Holland for 43 years. Known as one of the first rabbis to identify the forgery of the “Talmud Yerushalmi” on Seder Kodashim. He published articles exposing the forgery and wrote letters to other rabbis urging them to join the effort. He passed away on 26 Kislev 5696 (1936). Rabbi Ritter passed away without children. His extensive library was transferred to the Jewish community of Rotterdam, which in turn transferred it to the library of the Yeshurun Synagogue. [1], 128 leaves. 33 cm. Fair–good condition.
