Similar prayer sheets exist beginning approximately in the early 18th century and through the start of the 19th century. Page with the prayer “Open the gates of heaven, the gates of mercy for me”. Written for Mrs. Sarah, wife of the noble R’ Asher Angerminde. [2] pp. Hebrew in square calligraphic font with diacritics, Yiddish in mixed font. A square frame surrounds each page. At the end of the prayer is a dedication to the recipient. Stains. The pages have separated and are held together via pasting. Fair condition.
