The holy Sefer Noam Elimelech, one of the foremost foundational works of Chassidut, by the holy Rebbe Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk. An important edition with the approbation and holy blessing of the Rayatz of Lubavitch. Published during the period of the Second World War. Schlesinger Brothers Press, New York, 1942. [14], 231, [1] pages. With the approbations from the first edition, including the approbation of the holy Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam from the Kraków 1896 edition, and with the approbation of the Rayatz of Lubavitch from 1941, in which he wrote that printing this holy Sefer in America “is certainly a very exalted matter, ” and that it is assured that many will purchase the Sefer “as a safeguard for success.” Among Lubavitch Chassidim, the words of the Rayatz are regarded as both directive and blessing, and this edition is considered especially important and pedigreed, as it is the only edition regarding which the Rayatz expressed himself in such terms and in His Holy Handwriting. With a photographic reproduction of the title page of the first edition, and with an important bibliographic list of most editions of Noam Elimelech printed up to that time, beginning with the first edition, Lemberg 1788, through the year 1942, including an apology stating that “due to the time of emergency, we were unfortunately unable to prepare a complete list.” This edition was published by the author’s grandson, Rabbi Yehoshua Wagshal, who added on the title page the Segula for protection: ובודאי זכות זקני קוה”ק רבינו הגדול זצוק”ל, עליכם יגן, באלף המגן, לכל המסייעים והקונים, לשמירה מעולה בביתם להינצל מכל צרה ומחלה ובשפע ברכות, ברוחניות ובגשמיות ממקור הקדושה ולקרב גאולתנו ופדות נפשנו בגאולה בתוך אמוני עם סגולה Partially detached original binding, damage to the endpapers, overall good condition.
