Rabbi Moshe Bunim ben Rabbi Yonah Kreuz (1876–1939) — a Gaon and scholar, righteous and ascetic, a descendant of the Chasam Sofer, who worked extensively to strengthen Judaism in Switzerland. He was a disciple of Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald in Satmar, and of the Shevet Sofer in Pressburg. He was the son-in-law of Rabbi Shimon Pollak, author of Shem MiShimon. He received Semichah from his teachers, and also from the Raavad of Pressburg, Rabbi David Neiman, author of Nir L’David, and Rabbi Simchah Bunim, author of Ma’aneh Simchah. From 1905 he served as Rav of the Kehillas HaYere’im in Baden (Switzerland). He performed acts of kindness with a generous hand and encouraged the Jews of Switzerland to assist those in need and the inhabitants of Eretz HaKodesh. Wear on the postcard at the location from which a stamp was removed. Good condition.
