Interesting letter regarding reneging on a Shidduch, from the Tzaddik and Gaon Rabbi Yeshuah Falaji, from the leading Rabbis of Tzfas, sent to the renowned Geonim Rabbi Yishmael Hakohen and Rabbi Yeshuah Wa’ish. In the letter, the Gaon Rabbi Yeshuah Falaji, who later became Raavad of Tzefas, complains to the great Rabbis of Tzefas, Rabbi Yishmael Hakohen and Rabbi Yeshuah Wa’ish, regarding a shidduch that was being set up, despite the prospective bride having already been engaged to another. He requests of the city’s Rabbis that they warn the girl, and request of her that she not do this. On the reverse side of the letter is written: “The hon. Geonim, Rabbis of the Great Beis Din that is in Tzefas, may she be rebuilt and streangthened”. [1] lined paper, folded. Wear and light moth holes. Especially strong ink. Good condition
