Ownership stamps: “Czin Eugen” [“Eugen Tzin”] from the city of Timisoara (Tameshvar), Romania; a stamp in Lashon HaKodesh of Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Tzin, the Shochet U’Bodek of Shamluyah; and ownership signatures in Latin characters. Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Yechezkel Panet (1783–1845) — founder of Deyzh Chassidus, among the greatest disciples of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Rimanov and the first to disseminate Chassidus in Transylvania. He is called “Mareh Yechezkel” after his series of works. He studied with the Baruch Taam and other Gedolei HaDor. He learned the ways of Chassidus from the Chozeh of Lublin, the Maggid of Kozhnitz, and from Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Rimanov, his outstanding Rebbe. His most renowned position was as Rav of Karlsburg and Transylvania. Among his works: Shu”t Mareh Yechezkel — responsa with additions of Chiddushim on sugyos of Shas; Mareh Yechezkel on the Haggadah of Pesach; Mareh Yechezkel — Chiddushim on Tractate Chullin in depth of Peshat and analysis; Mareh Yechezkel — Part I on the Five Books of the Torah and Part II She’eiris Tzion, Derashos on the Moadim. In addition, there remained in manuscript Chiddushei Halachah and Aggadah on Shas, a large work on the four parts of Shulchan Aruch, and more. He also edited Menachem Tzion — the Derashos of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Rimanov, his great Rebbe in Chassidus. Harav Hachasid Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Tzin — expert Shochet U’Bodek in Shamluyah and in New York, son of Rabbi Simchah Bonan ben Rabbi Avraham Tzin of the community of Tameshvar.
