Letter in the handwriting of the great and famous Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Kopel Reich, Rabbi of the capital, Budapest, and Av Beit Din of the Kehillat Yere’im of Pest, with his signature. Pest, 1921. In his letter, he confirms and attests to the Torah greatness of the Gaon Rabbi Pinchas Winkler, Rabbi of Sarvar: 'להגיד שבחו במקום שאין מכירים אותו ואני במיודעי ומכירי קאמינא' כי הוא משיירי קהילתנו ונתגדל על ברכי התורה והיראה והוא איש חשוב ונעלה ונאמן כאיש אמת' The entire letter is in his sacred handwriting, with his signature and his square seal. The holy Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Kopel Reich (1838–1929) acquired Torah from his father, the Kabbalist Rabbi Avraham Yechezkel, Av Beit Din of Banovitz, and was a disciple of Maran the Chasam Sofer. He was among the outstanding prodigies of the Pressburg Yeshiva and was chosen by Maran the Ktav Sofer to guide his son, Maran the Shevet Sofer. He was part of the delegation of five students sent from the Pressburg Yeshiva to the court of Maran the holy Rabbi, the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. He judged Israel for forty years in the esteemed community of Budapest and served as the leader of the Orthodox communities throughout Hungary. Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld referred to him as “the holy elder”. After his passing, his grave became a place of pilgrimage for those seeking salvation and mercy. [8] lines in his own handwriting.
