Extremely rare: Passover Haggadah. Variant. Algiers, 1946 Passover Haggadah, with illustrations La Haggada de Pessah. Adaptation francaise de M. Elie Gozlan. Editeur-Imprimeur: Felix Sebaoun. Hebrew and French, side by side, laws in French. With illustrations. A nice architectural frame on the cover. At the beginning of the book, a short introduction in French by the Chief Rabbi of Algeria, Morris Eisenberg, and a preface by the translator. On page 63, a section in French honoring the fiftieth anniversary of ”The Jewish State” by Benjamin Ze'ev Herzl. That year, two editions were printed with minor variations. One Haggadah had [6] chromo pages, with illustrations on one side, and on the back, descriptions of the suffering of Jews during World War II, with a moral. The second Haggadah is very similar, with [2] chromo pages, with [3] different illustrations and advertisements. This is the second variant. 63, [1] pages, + [2] chromo pages. 20.5 cm.
